Computer stick are getting popularity lately. If you have light weighted computer usages such media consumption, web browsing, Word-processing & office suite and mail checking/composing and light casual gaming then these pocket size computer devices are good choice. They are small in size, works with any TV and Monitors. Attached USB/Wireless keyboard and mouse device for full stack computing. They are budget friendly in comparison to traditional computers.

Three different variants of computer sticks available. They are separated by which operating system they are using. One with Windows 10 operating system, the other with chrome os and the last one is with Linux OS. Three major players are offering computer sticks Intel, Lenovo and Asus. We will have detailed look with Intel, Asus and Lenovo’s offering for stick computer.

Intel was the first to come-up with the idea and introduced the pocket sized computer. Lenovo has followed the intel’s lead and produced exact copy with same internal specs. External looks have changed and bundled keyboard and mouse with roughly $20 reduced price then intel’s. While Asus choose a different approach for OS. They choose Chrome OS for computer stick. Which is good for every day computing mainly focused on internet where chrome is the center part for operating system.

 

Intel Computer Stick:

Intel is the first player in the competition to launch the computer stick. The device comes in two different variants one with 2gb of ram comes with Windows 10 where as one with 1gb of ram comes with Ubuntu(Linux) OS. The features innovative cooling features as devices don’t have any fans to maintain the temperature. The device has one USB port, one micro sd card for storage expansion, power switch and power indication led. Below is the features come specification chart.

Asus Computer Stick – Vivostick:

Asus is another familiar name for computer peripherals. Asus also has computer stick a pocket computer that convert any TV or monitor into powerful computer device. The concept remains the same so does the hardware department. There are some changes in outlook of device and offers one extra USB port for which you can use attach your expandable storage devices and audio jack for media playback and other purposes. The device packs a full functional Windows 10 home version. You can use all your favorite desktop productivity application like office, outlook, web browsers and other stuffs. Recently Google has announced Asus chromebit that will be running Chrome OS under the hood. Both variants are lack of micro sd support

Lenovo Computer Stick – Ideacenter Stick:

Lenovo has made it’s mark in computer, laptop and mobile industry last year. They are popular for offering high configuration devices at most affordable prices. They too have an offering for computer stick named Lenovo Ideacenter Stick. The stick has almost identical specs to Intel’s one with some cosmetic changes. The device offers micro sd card slot and a USB 2.0 port. The device price is bit on lower side compare to Intel. The hardware specification is as follows:
